Meet an Inventor Night

Audience: 10th – 12th grade students

Design and invention are daily activities for engineers in industry as well as faculty and students in the College of Engineering at the University of Utah. At this event participants will learn from people involved in the design process about where they got their ideas and how they turned their ideas into reality.

Participants are required to RSVP via the web form listed below. Registration will begin at 6:00 pm, and the keynote speaker will begin promptly at 6:30 pm.

Parents are invited to attend, but we encourage only one parent per high school student.

Schedule

6:30 pm Keynote Presentation
Given by a faculty member who followed the design process from assessing the needs of the industry through obtaining patents and commercializing his research. This faculty member has created products that save lives every day.

7:00 pm Breakout Sessions
Attendees may choose to participate in a design activity or hear from a panel of engineers involved in research and design

7:45 pm Tabling Event
Participants will meet inventors, designers and engineers
