Application Instructions

The John and Marcia Price College of Engineering has two types of scholarships from an application perspective; Auto-match scholarships and Apply-to scholarships.

Auto-match scholarships only require you to complete the General Application and the College of Engineering Application. This means, once you have completed the General Application and the College of Engineering Application, the system will auto-match your application to the scholarships you qualify for. No more action is needed unless you would also like to apply for Apply-to scholarships. Students who apply to the Apply-to scholarships significantly increase their chance of receiving a scholarship.

Apply-to scholarships require additional information from you, typically an essay or to answer a series of questions for possible consideration. Please consider applying to these.

Please note: It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all references are submitted by the deadline published in the online scholarship application. Always double check the reference email address to ensure it is correct. If you find that your reference(s) cannot submit their information on time, you have the opportunity to go back after your application has been submitted and change your reference(s). Once the application closes on February 1st, students can no longer make changes to references, they can only resend requests. References will be given one additional week to submit recommendations after the application closes.

Steps to apply for Scholarships:

  • 1. Complete your general application: Log into the scholarship system using your uNID and CIS credentials. In the ”Questions” section, select Engineering as an area of study (along with any other applicable areas) to ensure you receive access to the College of Engineering Application.
    • *On the general application, students must agree to the FERPA release in order to be given access to the Price College of Engineering Application.

  • 2. Complete the College of Engineering Application. (If applying on or before February 1st) Once this is complete, it will auto- match you based on your qualifications to a scholarship within the engineering department you qualify for. Note: This does not mean you will receive this scholarship, only that you meet the basic qualifications to be considered.
    • When saving your DARs, personal statement, and resume, do not use punctuation (periods, commas, etc.) in the document title. The system will reject files with punctuation and reviewers will not be able to open them. Only upload PDF documents.
    • To add an academic reference, click the "Request" button and enter your reference writer's information. When filling out the form we advise you to:
    • Set a deadline at least 1-2 weeks before the February 1st application deadline to give your writer adequate time to complete the letter.
    • Write a personal message that includes: A reminder of your connection (e.g., "I was in your BME 1010 class in Fall 2023"), what you're applying for, why you're seeking their recommendation, any relevant accomplishments or experiences you'd like them to highlight, a thank you for their time and support.
    • Once you submit the request, your reference writer will receive an email with your message and instructions for submitting your recommendation letter by your specified deadline.
    • Students who want to be considered for need based scholarships in the Price College of Engineering will need to have submitted their FAFSA application by February 1st.
  • 3. View and apply to recommended scholarships. After completing the College of Engineering General Scholarships Application, you’ll be directed to a list of scholarships you may be eligible for. These are the Apply-to scholarships that require additional applications. Here you may apply for scholarships for which you meet the requirements.
    • Since this system is shared by the entire University, some scholarships may show up that don't really apply to you.  The best thing to do is to filter this list by searching Engineering in the search bar.  Please note, this is not an exhaustive list of Price College of Engineering scholarships, just a list that the system thinks you meet the basic requirements to apply
  • 4. Scholarships with the word “apply” in the Action column require further action on your part in order to be considered. Click “apply” to complete the application process. Please read the scholarship eligibility requirements carefully to make sure you meet the eligibility requirements (e.g., major, GPA, enrollment requirement to receive the scholarship, other requirements as stated) before applying.
    • Students who have completed the steps above may click the ‘Apply for Engineering Scholarships’ button below to search for additional scholarships.
