K-12 Programs

At the Price College of Engineering, our focus extends beyond supporting current Ute engineers—we are equally committed to inspiring and supporting future Ute engineers through a wide range of outreach programs. Our Outreach Team serves elementary, middle, and high school students, engaging them in the principles of engineering through hands-on activities that can take place in your classroom, at your school, or on our campus.

We are dedicated to promoting science, technology, and mathematics (STEM) for K–12 students by creating interactive and accessible experiences for learners of all ages. To learn more about the programs we offer, please explore the “Programs and Services” section below to find the option that best fits your needs.

Most Prominent Programs & Services

This free, traveling exhibit introduces high school students to the 10 types of engineering majors we offer.

These events, including field trips, competitions, and tours, encourage continued interest in math and science while focusing on engineering and invention.

We would like to visit junior high and high schools to participate in classroom visits, science and career fairs, or provide lesson kits, all while encouraging students to consider engineering as a major and career.

We offer hands-on learning with chemical, electrical, civil, environmental, computer, mechanical, materials, and biomedical engineering.

University of Utah’s High School Programming Competition

Are you a current high schooler eager to show off your coding skills? The Price College of Engineering’s first ever High School Programming Competition is your chance to experience real-life applications of programming, all while competing for exciting prizes!

Parents and Alumni

Our outreach staff actively recruits parents and alumni volunteers to help promote engineering to young students in Northern Utah and throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.
