Responsibilities for the Sr. Level Position Include: Develop, coordinate, and monitor short-range and long-range mine plans, layout sequences, schedules, and timing. Prepare operating and equipment designs, schedules, and forecasts, including, but not limited to, draglines, mobile equipment, drilling and blasting, and reclamation planning. Field engineering work such as pit layout, ramp design, drainage design, etc. Calculate, track, analyze, and reconcile mine production, volumetrics, and reporting. Prepare timely reports on productivity analysis, mine design, and mine planning. Oversee evaluations of mining methods, product evaluations, and time and motion studies. Develop equipment specifications and justifications for new and replacement equipment. Communicate effectively with operations and technical groups to ensure effective implementation of designs and plans and optimum utilization of resources, update and adjust designs and plans as needed. Coordinate and monitor work of external consultants, contractors, and regulators. Ensure that all projects are completed timely and are cost effective and safe. Oversee the proper accounting of project costs for material, labor, and equipment. Maintain machine guidance system (GPS and wireless communications systems). May fill in for surface foreman positions if appropriate certificates are held.

Assist in preparing timely reports on productivity analysis, mine design, and mine planning. Participate in evaluations of mining methods, product evaluations, and time and motion studies. Communicate effectively with operations and technical groups to ensure effective implementation of designs and plans, update and adjust designs and plans as needed. Assist in ensuring that all projects are completed timely and are cost effective and safe. Maintain machine guidance system (GPS and wireless communications systems).
