The University of Utah was named one of 25 great colleges for aspiring engineers and scientists, according to Time.com.

The news agency picked the schools based on their overall ranking — which was determined by factors such as value, educational quality and affordability — as well as graduation rates and admissions rates. All of the schools on the list also produce STEM graduates whose early median salary was at least $50,000 per year.

Last Fall, the University of Utah also was named one of the “Top 100 World’s Most Innovative Universities,” according to a new survey by news agency, Thomson Reuters. The U was ranked No. 41.

That ranking was accomplished in part due to the College of Engineering’s growth in patent filings and startup companies.
