We are looking for Engineers with leadership, excited by technology and science, who desire to help Micron transform how the world uses information. In a Fab that invests heavily in automation, and AI, you will be responsible for planning and implementing daily operations that line up with business strategies. You will provide real time analysis, problem solving and decision-making. Also require tight-knit collaboration with engineers from other function teams to jointly address the critical process or equipment issues and drive efficient tool utilization that meet our exacting product quality requirements and timely delivery to our customers.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The Manufacturing Engineer role is responsible for tactically monitoring the health of area processes, ensuring expedient lot movement, and reacting to area process issues that impact quality, cycle time (CT) or turns. ME’s support existing processes, identify process and material improvements and correct process deviations. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Safety & Quality

Finishes the required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies
Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws
Reports all safety-related concerns or problems immediately to the appropriate individual (Emergency Response Team, Supervision, etc.)
Follows accurate organizational change practices to ensure safety and quality expectations are met
Adheres to tool documentation/reaction mechanisms and submits updates to content when needed
Leading or mentoring the team through required Safety Audits and submits good catches and work orders to resolve any potential safety concerns
Communication/Partnership

Communicates proactively with Engineering and Operation shift leaders to ensure daily priorities are coordinated
Leads efforts with shift team to sustain and improve execution to Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Collaborates with Area Manager and Engineering Shift Manager to support the Manufacturing Technician (MT) Skill Climb Business Process
Collaborates with Manufacturing Technicians and key partners to create Best Known Methods (BKMs) to implement across shifts
Partners with Process Engineering to resolve tool/process setup issues improving workstation output
Communicates quality concerns that could cause product excursions or defects
Partners with Shift Engineering to ensure existing process hold impacts are minimized
Project Management/Planning

Leads area continuous improvement projects to ensure work is completed within scope and on schedule
Leads meetings to coordinate project activities, track actions, and communicate progress to partners
Optimally maintains shift responsibilities
Lead innovation efforts by analyzing manual business processes and working to develop automated solutions using Smart Manufacturing tools (CAF, UiPath, AMI and ARM)
Technical/Data

Demonstrates troubleshooting skills, Ability to identify problems, including root cause analysis
Analyzes SPACE data and responds to OOC conditions using area troubleshooting guides
Proactively communicates with Process Development Engineers and Shift Process owners to execute sophisticated Special Work Requests, DOEs, and Task Tickets
Engages in interrupted lot disposition and coordination of rework/touch-up/recovery actions
Coordinates area targeting and process qualifications requirements
Participates in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of new systems and provides feedback prior to implementation
Coordinates the recovery and release of equipment from scheduled maintenance or qual failures by analyzing data (SPACE, Klarity, E3, ETO, RTR)
Coordinates disposition of quality impacts using the Quality Deviation Reporting (QDR) system, follows up on actions to close out QDRs
Analyses data to make recommendations and implement changes to qual system requirements
Investigate and respond to OOC flags
Address auto stage failures caused by incorrect recipe parameter settings or tool recipe setup issues (Recipe File Management (RFM))
Fab Performance

Applies manufacturing science concepts to analyze workstation performance concerns
Partners with Manufacturing Industrial Engineering (MIE) team to develop reports needed to lead area performance or support project initiatives
Engages in blocked WIP Pareto reduction activities
Analyze and optimize area queue times to reduce and eliminate breaches
Understand and implement redundancy options to address constraint workstations
Support shift Manufacturing Process & Equipment Optimization (MPEO) activities to improve automation
Ideal team member will have the following qualifications:

Intermediate PC skills including a familiarity with MS Office suite programs
Sophisticated understanding of area process, equipment area process quality control systems (Qual System, SPACE, Targeting…others)
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to efficiently prioritize tasks and projects
Strong partnering and teamwork skills
Basic understanding of the Fab process areas including area processing equipment
Strong understanding of SPC principles and the use and risks of recipe maintenance programs
Confirmed ability to communicate and present effectively
Strong data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills
Sophisticated ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment
Ability to solve sophisticated problems and address root causes
Strong analytical problem-solving skills
Confirmed time management, organization, and prioritization skills
Experience or knowledge of data collection, warehousing systems, data cleansing in one or more scripting, programming and visualization tools (i.e. Python, Java, Tableau, Matlab, Microsoft Suite)
Sophisticated problem-solver – understanding of data, good data intuition and data visualization skills
Hands-on experience in the field of data analytics, preferably with experience querying databases

Education and Experience
Relevant BS degree required

Additional Job Description
Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
