Alpha Engineering employs individuals with varying backgrounds and experience ranging from professional engineers to licensed surveyors to specialized CAD technicians. We are currently looking to fill an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) position at our St. George office.

While applying technical, engineering knowledge and skills, this position will:

• Be an entry level member of our team, providing support to experienced
engineers and technicians
• Be able to grow and learn a variety of Civil Engineering applications including
water, wastewater, transportation, storm water, planning, GIS, structural,
design, drafting, and others
• Help with the planning, design, and implementation of infrastructure designs
for a variety of projects.
• Typically participate in all phases of the project design and construction,
depending on specific project needs.
• Analyze engineering data, review existing reports and documents, interpret
plans and specifications, and makes sound decisions with the support of
experienced engineers and technicians to solve challenges.
• Develop designs and layouts using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software packages,
providing drafting support to senior engineers and designers.
• Model fluid systems including water, wastewater, and storm water using
software packages.
• Collaborate with other engineers and public agencies (Cities, Counties, State,
etc.) on projects.
• Interact with government agencies for necessary permits, crossing agreements,
easements, encroachments, and other necessary requirements.
• Attend public meetings, public forums, and open houses to discuss project
details, answer questions from the public, as required.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering
• Certification as Engineer-in-Training (passed Fundamentals of Engineering
Exam)
• Internship experience on relevant similar work is desired but not required
• GIS and CAD experience is desired but not required
